Best POS software in Pakistan: an honest comparison
Every vendor says they are the best. This page does something more useful: it shows you the six things that actually decide whether a system will work in your shop, what it should cost in rupees, and where we are the wrong choice.
The short answer
There is no single best POS software in Pakistan, because the right answer depends on your size and what you sell. Three cases cover almost every shop:
- A normal single-location shop. Kiryana, general store, pharmacy, mobile shop, clothing shop, small cafe. Pick an offline-first cloud POS with a real Urdu interface and flat pricing in rupees. This is what BazaarMint is built for, at Rs. 999 a month with everything included.
- A Tier-1 retailer. A brand outlet, a chain, a franchise, a shop inside an air-conditioned mall, or a business whose 12-month electricity bill is over Rs. 1,200,000. You are legally required to use an FBR-integrated system. BazaarMint is not one, so do not buy it for this.
- A chain with several branches. You need one account covering all branches, with stock moving between them. Choose a multi-branch system. BazaarMint is one shop per account.
If you only want to record who owes you money, a free khata app is enough and you should not pay for a POS at all.
Before you buy
Six things that actually decide it
Most demos show you a pretty billing screen. These are the questions that decide whether the software survives a real month in a real shop.
1. Does it really work offline?
Ask for offline-first, not an offline mode. Test it yourself: turn on aeroplane mode, make three sales, reconnect, and check all three arrived with the right stock. Many cloud systems fail this.
2. Is the price in rupees?
Software billed in dollars gets more expensive every time the rupee slips. A flat PKR price is a number you can budget for a year ahead.
3. Is the Urdu real?
A few translated buttons is not Urdu support. If your salesman is more comfortable in Urdu, check that the whole app, including reports, reads properly.
4. Does it hold udhaar properly?
Pakistani retail runs on credit. You need a per-customer khata, partial recoveries, and a statement you can show the customer when they argue.
5. Does profit include cost?
Plenty of apps show sales and call it profit. Real profit needs purchase cost, discounts, returns and expenses subtracted. Ask to see the profit screen, not the sales screen.
6. What does it cost in total?
Add the licence, the yearly support fee, the per-counter charge, the hardware you must buy from them, and the cost to get your own data out. That is the real price.

Where BazaarMint is the wrong choice
We would rather lose a sale than have you pay for something that does not fit. Do not buy BazaarMint if any of these describe you.
- You are a Tier-1 retailer. We are not FBR-integrated, so we cannot make you compliant. Buy from an FBR-licensed vendor.
- You run several branches under one company. We are one shop per account, with no cross-branch stock or combined reporting.
- You need your online store synced. There is no built-in Shopify, WooCommerce or Daraz connection.
- You need table management or full KOT routing. We print kitchen and rider slips, but there are no floor plans or table maps.
- You need proper double-entry accounting. We report sales, cost, expenses and profit and export to Excel. We are not accounting software.
How to actually test a system in one week
Demos are designed to look good. A week in your own shop tells you the truth. Do this with any software you are considering, including ours.
Day 1: put in twenty real products
Not the demo data. Your own items, with your own units, your own purchase cost and your own selling price. If entering twenty items is painful, entering two thousand will be impossible.
Day 2: sell with the internet off
Aeroplane mode, three sales, then reconnect. Check the sales arrived and the stock dropped correctly. This single test eliminates a surprising number of systems.
Day 3: give a salesman a login
Can you give staff access without handing over your own account or your Google password? Can you stop them seeing your profit or deleting a sale? Check what the audit log records.
Day 4: sell something on udhaar, then take a part payment
Record a credit sale, then recover half of it. The customer's balance should be right, and you should be able to print or share a statement.
Day 5: return an item
Returns are where weak software falls apart. The stock should come back, the money should come off the right place, and the profit figure should adjust.
Day 6: read your profit
Open the profit report and ask yourself whether you believe the number. Check that it has subtracted purchase cost, discounts, returns and your expenses.
Day 7: try to get your data out
Export everything to Excel or a backup file. If you cannot get your own data out easily, you do not really own it, and switching later will be painful.
By shop type
What suits your kind of shop
The right features differ more by trade than most buyers expect.
Kiryana and general
Hundreds of cheap items and heavy udhaar. Speed at the counter and a clean khata matter most.
Pharmacy
Batch numbers and expiry dates are the whole job. Without expiry tracking you lose money on the shelf.
Cafe and restaurant
You sell what you make, so cost comes from a recipe, not a purchase price. Kitchen slips matter.
Clothing and garments
Size and colour multiply your item count fast. Barcode labels stop the counter slowing down.
Mobile shops
High value per item and a lot of accessories. Cost accuracy per handset is what protects margin.
Wholesale
A second, lower price per item and orders placed in cartons rather than pieces.
FAQ
Common questions
What is the best POS software in Pakistan?
There is no single best system for every shop, because the right answer depends on your size and what you sell. For a normal single-location shop such as a kiryana store, pharmacy, mobile shop or small cafe, the best fit is usually an offline-first cloud POS with Urdu support and flat PKR pricing, which is what BazaarMint provides at Rs. 999 per month. If you are a Tier-1 retailer, meaning a brand outlet, a chain, a franchise, a shop in an air-conditioned mall, or a business whose 12-month electricity bill is over Rs. 1,200,000, you are legally required to use an FBR-integrated system instead. If you run several branches under one company, choose a multi-branch system.
How much does POS software cost in Pakistan?
Cloud POS subscriptions in Pakistan generally run from about Rs. 900 to Rs. 6,000 per month per shop. Some systems price in US dollars, which makes them more expensive in rupees and exposes you to exchange-rate changes. Older one-time-licence desktop software is often quoted between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 150,000 up front, plus paid yearly support. BazaarMint is Rs. 999 per month or Rs. 8,999 per year with every feature included and no setup fee.
Do I need FBR-integrated POS software for my shop?
Only if you are a Tier-1 retailer. That means a national or international brand outlet, a chain store, a franchise or authorised brand retailer, a shop inside an air-conditioned shopping mall or plaza, or a business whose electricity bill over the last 12 months exceeded Rs. 1,200,000. Most kiryana stores, small pharmacies, mobile shops and small cafes fall outside these tests and are not required to integrate. FBR integration also only does anything for a business that is registered for sales tax.
Which POS software works without internet in Pakistan?
Look for software described as offline-first, not just cloud software that claims an offline mode. The practical test is simple: put the device in aeroplane mode, make three sales, then reconnect and check that all three arrived with correct stock. BazaarMint is built offline-first, keeps selling during load-shedding or weak signal, and syncs by itself when the connection returns.
Is free POS software good enough for a small shop?
Free khata and billing apps are fine if all you need is a record of who owes you money. They usually stop short of live stock, supplier purchases, costed profit and staff permissions, and several limit invoice counts or charge for printing and backups. If your shop carries real stock and you want a true profit figure, a paid POS normally pays for itself quickly. Compare the real yearly cost, not the headline word free.
Can POS software run on just a mobile phone?
Yes. A browser-based POS runs on any Android phone, tablet, laptop or PC with no special till hardware. You can add a Bluetooth thermal printer and a barcode scanner later if you want them. BazaarMint installs from the browser like an app and runs the same on a phone at the counter and a PC in the back office.
Should I buy a one-time licence instead of a subscription?
A one-time licence sounds cheaper until you add the yearly support fee, the cost of a replacement PC, and the fact that your data usually lives on that one machine. If it is stolen or its drive fails and you have no backup, the shop's whole history goes with it. A subscription keeps your data synced off the machine and keeps the software updated, but you pay every year. Decide by comparing five years of each, not the first month.
Will I lose my data if I stop paying?
With BazaarMint an expired shop can still open the app, read everything and print reports. Only actions that record new business are blocked. You should still take your own backup file, and any good vendor should let you export your data to Excel or a backup file at any time. If a vendor cannot answer this question clearly, treat it as a warning.
